Mr & Mrs. Birch will forever be my first clients. At a time when I shifted roles into a new adventure I had the lucky chance of taking my first solo meeting with Jim and Mary Kay.
I tell people in the business world everyday that Jim & Mary Kay gave me the everlasting reassurance and confidence that it was ok to not know everything. As long as you are genuine and can communicate that you understand the question/concern at hand, it is ok to take the time to use your resources to be able to provide the right answer.
It has been a couple years since our last opportunity to catch up, but I will forever keep you both in my thoughts!

Dearest Jim and family
You have been an angel in my life and for the last 2 years; you have been a soul brother in our AA cancer in sobriety family and remain a mirrored reflection of the best and truest Spirit of unconditional love. You have been and remain-an emissary of God’s love and Light and a true and dear friend that has changed my life, touched my heart and soul repeatedly.
Again and again, we met by phone or email at the temple of life and death and you extended your beautiful kind loving heart, so fully and freely, supporting me; you reached out so often when I was in the ICU, or hospitalized…and always you were there, being present to and with me throughout the worst and hardest parts of my cancer journey-though radiation, chemo, radical surgery. Always you called, reached out 24/7 to me, made yourself fully available, and shared your love, your hope, your wisdom and laughter and the same love flowed reciprocally between us during these immensely challenging times of trials we both shared .
We were simply there meeting one another as loving friends, standing together at the temple of Life and listening, being there for one another, and you were always there for me, and hopefully, I for you, providing kindness, love, sharing our faith or at times lack of faith when either of us was struggling, suffering physically, losing hope… and always sharing our Joy of living and the gifts of authentic Love and the infinite blessings of God’s unfolding grace.
On all levels you provided me a Loving Anchor, sharing your beacons of Light when it was so deeply needed, helping me regain faith, trust God, trust life…and together face our mortality with dignity and grace. What a priceless gift you gave me, helping me restore my faith in life when I had little left, helped me reconnect to God and being present to love and all of life, including our brokenness, illness and death. You gave me so many gifts.
I am a much better man for knowing and loving you; how I treasure the living memories of our sharing our joys, successes ,our laughter, struggles, fears and blessings, freely and deeply. How lucky I am to have shared the gifts of true friendship and sobriety as we came into AA about the same year and I will always be grateful to you for being Jim, the man you are and your Spirit shines brightly, inside my heart as do the many memories of our conversations we shared together. Thank you and I send many blessings and prayers for healing to Mary Kay and your beloved children and extended family.

You were and always will be one of the most kindest souls in the world alongside Gigi. Thank you and both for taking Theodore and Thea in as your own great grandkids. I’ll never forget your advice and talks about how to pursue the business route, and i know you’ll be alongside me guiding me. Your imprint will forever be in all of our hearts. And as always, there will always be room for dessert.
RIP papa ❤️

Jim has always been a hero of mine. I have watched him go through so many things over the time that I've known him and he has always done so with grace dignity and gratitude. When I got diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago he was the first one to call me and Jim continued to call me and call me and call me. I was so grateful for his friendship and support as I began to walk a path that he had already been on. I love you Jim and you will be in my heart forever.

My thoughts and prayers to the Birch family. I worked many years with Jim at Piehler Pontiac. That is where I started my career in the auto business. He was a great mentor and thoughtful boss. I will cherish all our memories.

Jim Birch reflected The Lord’s grace in his life in many ways among them his integrity, humility and refusal to judge harshly! Jim was not a jealous man. While short on patience for indifference and laziness; he was long on loyalty and accuracy in his work. His love for his wife, Mary Kay and his family was absolute and un-compromised. . I will miss him a great deal. Jim was a good and faithful worker not only for his earthly authorities but most importantly as a good and faithful servant to his Heavenly Father. Rest in Peace, my friend! Mike Piehler, Sr.
