GENEVA/JUNIUS — Stephen Henry Brown, 86, passed away Monday (December 18, 2023) at home with his loving family by his side.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday (Dec. 22) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 West Main St., Waterloo, NY. Rev. Dale Andrews, pastor of Geneva Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Southwick Cemetery, Junius, NY.

Henry was born December 28, 1937, son of the late John W., Sr. and Clara H. Greene Brown. He was a 1955 graduate of Mynderse Academy and married his wife Patricia on June 28, 1958. Henry went on to work for Seneca Motors, later known as Hallman-Atkins Chevrolet from 1955-1967. He then worked at Sarah Coventry in Newark, NY. From 1983 to the time of his retirement, Henry was an independent contractor for Tobin & Associates Inc. in Rochester, NY.
He served as an active member, president and treasurer of the Junius Volunteer Fire Dept. for more than 30 years. He was a participant in local Junius gov't. for over 21 years, as a tax accessor, councilman and supervisor. Henry also served as clerk of session of Junius Presbyterian Church, and later became a serving elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo. He recently attended Oaks Corners Presbyterian. Henry loved hunting, fishing and furniture refinishing.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann Dawley Brown; daughters Veronica Lee Leisenring of Newark, NY, Valerie Lynn Brown of Seneca Falls, NY, and Vickie (Brad) Smith of Rockville, MD; grandchildren Ryan Murphy, Keely Murphy, Lindsay Leisenring, and Nathanael Brown; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Shirley Brown; 1 niece; and 4 nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother John "Jack" W. Brown, Jr.; grandson Glenn Henry Leisenring; and a nephew.
