I met Menzo in 2011. I was a broken single mother who had just gone through a tragic incident within my home. Realizing my kids deserved more I applied for habitat, met with Menzo and was chosen as a host family. He made the whole process comfortable, bonded with my sons during the build, never got annoyed when I would call the bank weekly requesting to talk to him with questions. He always took my call which was probably the smallest of his priorities at the time. He changed our lives and I will forever be grateful. I haven’t spoke to him since we finished our home in 2012 until just a couple months ago. He was at FLH serving a picnic meal to staff, I walked up and said happily Menzo Case do you remember me. He smiled and said no but I probably should. I said 15 Mill St. he smiled again and said ohhh.. how are the boys? I told him that my oldest is a manager of a Broadway theater, and my second son was now a Chiropractor and Medical Examiner in Manhattan. None of this would have happened if Menzo didn’t help me provide a better home which added better mindset for myself along the way. The last thing Menzo said as we held up the picnic line was how’s the house? Is it still standing? I said oh yes everything is great! He gave a huge smile and put his hands up in prayer, thank god! With pride he added we are at 30 builds now! I am so happy I had that moment and will cherish that memory. My heart is broken for his family and for all who knew him. Thank you for sharing his tribute.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Our community has lost one of its guiding lights. Menzo did so much to selflessly help all those in need in our community and the entire area. He will be missed beyond words. I am truly grateful for the honor of knowing such a remarkable man. The world needs more Menzos!

As I read this tribute about Menzo I could not help but wish I had been a sister or cousin or something! Well, since I'm Born Again, I can say in Christ we are related and I'm glad as I read all that I read about him and his life. He sure had a full life. It was full of life and love for many. I trust that the fruit he brought forth is fruit that remains. And though the earth lost someone important, heaven gained someone important. I'm so glad I read this. My heart goes out to Ginger and all of Menzos' family at this time for God's love and comfort to come in in deep measure. Love in Christ, Wanda F. Sewell

I met Menzo somewhere around 20111-2012 when Ben Mittiga called me and said " I have a project for you "
We toured the old supermarket which is the now The Generations Headquarters and he said to me " this is your blank slate just make it modern and reflect the new ways of banking and our brand "
I will never forget the day I presented the plans and interiors scheme to him for the headquarters project in the Cayuga St. boardroom - he saw my vision immediately and more importantly he believed in me as an interior designer .
We continued on to complete 2 other projects together , The Cayuga Street location and The Farmington Branch. He always trusted me to bring the Generations brand to life thorough interior design .
Menzo was instrumental in my design career and as a women owned business he believed !
You will be missed

My brother was so driven in all that he did, and I looked up to him. He is one of the reasons I accepted a date with my now husband. Menzo had offered him a job so if he was ok for him, he was ok for me. His gifts were unmatched. You knew that if he gave you a gift, there was sincere meaning and thought behind it. I cherish the jewelry box he brought me back from Okinawa. It sits on my shelf in my bedroom. I still have letters he wrote me from Okinawa tucked away inside of that jewelry box. I will miss his laughter. He had a fantastic laugh and was able to bring you to tears with his antics. He had nicknames for everyone. I was always Gingo. I take comfort in knowing that he is with our mother in heaven. I will see him again. For now, I hold on to fun memories and pray for his wife and kids that they will somehow find peace in this new direction for their lives. God is so good and always in control. I love you, Menzo. Until we meet again. Ginger

Gordon and I send our deepest condolences to all of the Case family. Although we only knew Menzo and Sue for a few days a year during the It's a Wonderful Life Festival, they both made lasting memories in our hearts. Menzo was so proud of Seneca Falls and all that he envisioned for the town. Almost every year, he would make time to show us your town, even with all of the events happening that weekend. He gave us personal tours of Generations Bank headquarters, Cafe 19, and the Women's Hall of Fame. We watched him proudly help out with the blessings of many Habitat houses. And most of all, he always requested to sit at our table at the Preview dinner, where we all enjoyed the evening getting to know each other and sharing stories and laughter. We will miss him greatly.

Although my employment at Generations Bank only lasted three years, they were a profound three years. That is mainly due to the opportunity to work with Menzo and to volunteer for the “Women Build” with Habitat for Humanity Seneca County. I can tell you that what everyone is saying about the strong leadership he provided was my experience as well. The concern and caring he showed to those around him was evident in business as well as community work. He was indeed an amazing man and I know there will be a gap where he once stood. Cathy Thurston

My Sunday School Teacher. This was an honored title and I talked to many people about my Sunday School Teacher. Though he took a lot of ribbing about how long it took to get through a 4 chapter book, he always laughed. Studying the words is important:) Thank you Menzo for your dedication to teaching Gods Word. I came into Menzo’s life when he was about 13 years old. I really never met a more respectful person in my life. We were father and son from the start. I taught him many things by working outside with him and hunting we did a lot together for many years. Even though I taught him Menzo taught me probably more than I taught him! He was exceptional. His math skills were so high that I never understood two words he told me about math. He was the greatest husband, father and grandfather that I ever met and as my son I could ask no more. I love you Metz rest in our Lords arms.
