Obituary of Aida Felicita Chase

WATERLOO – Aida F. Chase, 89, passed away Friday (July 28, 2023) at her home.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 2) at Coe Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 3) at the Waterloo Baptist Church, 2701 Rt. 96S, Waterloo, NY. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waterloo Baptist Church, 2701 Rt. 96S, Waterloo, NY, 13165 or The Gideons International, 50 Century Blvd, Nashville, TN, 37214.
Aida was born November 8, 1933, in Manati, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Gilberto S. and Felicita Agosto Candelas. She was a 1953 graduate of Central High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Aida moved to the United States in 1956. She was employed with Gould Pumps in Seneca Falls, NY, for five years. She later, was employed with the NYS Poison Control Center, in Syracuse, before retiring after 13 years of employment. She was a member of the Waterloo Baptist Church.
She is survived sons Ivan Decker of Waterloo, NY, and Daniel (Narine) Decker of Casa Grande, AZ; stepchildren, Mark Chase, Diane Trial, Sharis Boone, and Philip Chase all of Canada; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Jose "Benji" (Marta) Candelas of Puerto Rico; sister Alba Hernandes, of Puerto Rico; sister-in-law Eva Candelas of Puerto Rico; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved and much adored kitty Linda.
Aida was predeceased by her husband Daryl Chase; brothers Angel, Uriel, and Samuel Candelas; and sister-in-law Dina Candelas.
