Obituary of Helen Louise DeWall

WATERLOO – Helen L. DeWall, 89, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Friday (June 23, 2023) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY, with her loving family by her side.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (July 5) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday (July 6) at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Graziano, pastor of Finger Lakes Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waterloo Sportsmans' Club, P. O. Box 269, Waterloo, NY, 13165 or Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY, 13148.
Helen was born January 21, 1934, in Fayette, NY, the daughter of James W., Sr. and Eunice M. Cleminson Brown. She was a 1952 graduate of the Waterloo High School. In her younger years, she was a member of Mary and the Music Makers band. Helen was employed with Greenwood Foods in Waterloo, the Seneca Army Depot and various vineyards. She worked beside her husband for many years as they worked their farm. Helen was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a longtime member of the Waterloo Sportsmans' Club.
She is survived by sons, Gary (Connie) DeWall and Steve (Michelle) DeWall both of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Jolly, Michael DeWall, Kevin (Kerry) DeWall, Steven (Riley Commisso) DeWall, Jr., and Kristine (Brandon Cole) DeWall; great-grandchildren, Lauren (Devin Egan) Jolly, Kaitlyn Jolly, Dana Jolly, Kaia DeWall, Kinley DeWall, and Kaleb DeWall; brother, James W. Brown, Jr. of Seneca Falls, NY; several cousins; and nieces and nephews; special friends, Lee (Christy) Heeren of Rockford, IL; and special Roommate, Phyllis Dunlap of Waterloo, NY; and her many friends including the Brick Corner Independent Living Center.
Helen was predeceased by her parents; husband, Albert A. DeWall, infant son, Gail James DeWall, and brother, Kenneth Brown.
The family want to thank the special staff at Huntington Living Center for the care the staff gave to Helen.
