Obituary of Donald Earl Olschewske

TYRE/WATERLOO – Donald E. Olschewske. 88, of the Tyre/Waterloo area passed away peacefully Monday (February 20, 2023) in Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Waterloo, NY, with his loving family by his side. Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday (February 25) at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The Time of Sharing will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice. Donald was born September 11, 1934, in Fayette, NY, the son of Howard and Edna Kuney Olschewske. He was a 1952 graduate of Waterloo High School. Don began farming and later, owned and operated his own feed milling business. He loved archery and was a member of the Buckskin Bowman in Waterloo, NY. Don won several awards in archery tournaments. He is survived by his wife whom he married November 6, 1954, celebrating 68 years of marriage, Louise M. Smith Olschewske; daughter Cheri (Jack) O'Connors of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren Sheena (Joel) Hodges of Jacksonville, FL and Kyle (Valerie) O'Connors of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren Raegan O'Connors, Ethan O'Connors, Alice Hodges and Jack Hodges; brothers Bernard Olschewske of Ontario, NY and Steve (Leanne) Olschewske of Fairport, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
