Obituary of Phil Edgar Tennies

SENECA FALLS/GENEVA – Phil E. Tennies, 85, formerly of Seneca Falls, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side, Thursday (July 14, 2022). In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be in the future. Burial was in Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hydrant Hose Co. No. 1, 79 Geneva St., Geneva, NY, 14456. Phil was born June 8, 1937, in Seneca Falls, NY, the son of Norman A. and Adah Travis Tennies, Sr. He was a 1955 graduate of Geneva High School. Phil was a graduate of the United Wesleyan Church correspondence course. He was employed for 15 years with the City of Geneva Fire Department, until 1975. Leaving the fire department, Phil went into full-time ministry through the Gospel Crusade Ministerial Fellowship. He was the founder of Living Gospel Ministries, Inc. Phil was a former chaplain at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, NY. Phil help start and was pastor at Savannah Family of God Church for several years. He was an assistant pastor at Waterloo United Methodist Church. Phil was a life member for the Hydrant Hose Co. No. 1. He is survived by his daughter Sandra (Larry) Greiner of Clyde, NY; granddaughter Melissa (Orlando) Sanchez of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandson Riley, Logan, Peyton Sanchez.
