Obituary of Nellie Keller

Phelps - Nellie C. (Skinner) Keller, 90, died peacefully Monday (September 17, 2012).
In keeping with Nellie's wishes there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday (Sept. 21) at Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church, . Rev. Ellen Donnan will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church, 824 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, 14456.
Nellie was born June 30, 1922 in Waterloo, the daughter of Edney M., Sr. and Bertha Mitchell Skinner. She was a 1940 graduate of Geneva High School. She worked in many positions including a nurse's aide, bookkeeper for G.L.F., and a photographer at Sampson. She worked as a telephone operator in Florida then transferred to NYS to the phone company. From 1974 to 1989 she worked at the Phelps Post Office as a rural route carrier. She was a longtime member of the Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church and a former church elder. She was also a member of the Wide-Awake-Grange in Phelps, Oaks Corners Improvement Association, Genesee Valley Bottle Club, NY Steam Engine Association, and the Phelps Historical Society. In her younger years she enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by one son: Alvin (Patti) Keller of Orleans, three daughters: Betty Jane (Scott) Fremouw of Phelps, Nancy (Vince) Denisi of Newark, Marilyn (Wade) Falkey of Phelps; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Florence Lowman of Pleasant Valley, CA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by three brothers: Robert, Charles, and Milton "Kise" Skinner, Jr., and two sisters: Jane Slonigher and Margaret Goodman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo.
