Obituary of Clesson Gene Becker

WATERLOO/JUNIUS – Clesson "Gene" Becker, 81, passed away Monday (May 30, 2022) with his loving family by his side, at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Varick, NY. A memorial service at the church will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959 or to New Life Assembly of God Church and Retreat Center, 7608 NY-31, Lyons, NY, 14489. Gene was born February 19, 1941, in Canandaigua, NY, the son of Harrison R. and Edith P. Cuatt Becker. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1962 to 1968. Gene was employed with Ryan Homes for 20 years. He retired after 23 years with East Main Street Apartments in Waterloo, NY. Gene also enjoyed working in the woods cutting trees. He was a very active member of New Life Assembly of God Church and Retreat Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce A. Becker; son Clesson "Gene" (Flora) Becker, Jr. of Seneca Falls, NY; and daughter Shelly A. Bruder of Manchester, NY; grandchildren Karrah (Bryn) Gebert-Fryer, Eric (Kendel) Bruder, and Emily (Shane) Barry; great-granddaughters Amelia and Paige Barry; two brothers; many nieces and nephews.
