WATERLOO – Jeffery W. Weigand, 66, of Waterloo, NY, passed away unexpectedly, Friday (April 15, 2022) with his family by his side.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 19) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (April 20) at the funeral home. Rev. William Reigle, pastor for Phelps Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Canoga Cemetery, Fayette, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Border City Hose Company, c/o Walter Mumford, 3000 Fallbrook Street, Geneva, New York, 14456.
Jeff was born January 26, 1956, in Geneva, NY, the son of Cpt. William "Buddy" and Elvere Evans Weigand. He was a Waterloo High School graduate. Jeff began employment as assistant manager of Long John Silvers in Geneva, NY. Then sought employment with GTE Sylvania in Seneca Falls, NY until the company closed the plant. Jeff was then employed at Lake Country Log Homes in Savannah, NY, building log home kits. Then he worked for the Geneva Housing Authority, retiring after 30 years of employment. Jeff joined Border City Hose Company in 1976 and was an active member for over 46 years. He served on the Board of Directors and held the positions of treasurer, lieutenant, captain, and assistant chief. Jeff was a member of Red Knights International Motorcycle Club Chapter 30. He was also a member of the Waterloo Rifle and Pistol Club, where he loved targeting shooting. Jeff enjoyed breakfast with special friends Danny Beckers, Bert Clark, Rich Smith, and his mother-in -law Trudy Nicastro, known as the "Breakfast Club".
He is survived by his wife of 39 years LeeAnn Nicastro Weigand; sons Jacob (Viridiana) Weigand of Grand Prairie, TX, Cody (Stephanie) Weigand of Lyons, NY, and Chad Weigand of Myrtle Beach, SC; granddaughters Samantha, Emelia, Elliana, Penelope, and Charlotte Weigand; sister-in-law Julie Weigand of Turin, NY; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jeff was predeceased his parents; and his brother, M. Bruce Weigand.
