Obituary of Harold Burlew

Waterloo - Harold Wayne Burlew, 83, of 29 N. Seneca St., died Thursday (June 28, 2013) at his home. Friends may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (July 3) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, 13165. Harold was born September 12, 1929, in Elmira, the son of Robert and Ada Scott Burlew. He was employed for many years with Seneca Falls Machine Shop as a machinist, until his retirement. He was also retired from Wal-Mart, as a greeter. He is survived by his son, Donald Burlew of Waterloo; daughters, Deb Dubben of Waterloo and Dawn (Jeff) Miller of Sacramento, CA; step-sons, Charles Stephan and Thomas (Kim) Stephan, both of Waterloo; step-daughter, Sandra (Chris) Tarr of Waterloo; grandchildren, Kevin Burlew, Jennifer Burlew, Matthew Burlew, Robert Dubben, Megan Earl, Nathan Dubben, Kyle Dubben, Cara Samelson, Catie Miller, Diana Miller, Emily Stephan, Hannah Stephan, Kristy White, Heather Tarr, Ashley Tarr, Jacob Stephan and Noah Stephan; great-grandchildren, Carly Burlew, Allison Burlew, Holden Earl, and Emalyn Earl; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Burlew, who died in 1972 and his second wife, Nina Burlew, who died in 2001; son, Douglas Burlew; and granddaughter, Janine Burlew.
