Obituary of Carolyn Lee Dyson

WATERLOO – Carolyn L. Dyson, 76, of Waterloo, NY passed away peacefully Saturday (June 5, 2021) Geneva General Hospital. Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (June 9) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday (June 10) at Calvary Lutheral Church, 2414 NY-414, Waterloo, NY. Rev. William Dorow, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waterloo, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1995 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY, 14620 or American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY, 14620. Carolyn was born December 7, 1944, in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of Gilbert and Sarah A. Arthur Smith. After marrying her husband in 1960, she moved to Seneca Falls, NY, the home of her husband. She was employed with Waterloo Central School District as the Cook Manager for the high school cafeteria. Carolyn was a member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge 992 Auxiliary. She is a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She is survived by her loving husband Paul R. Dyson of Waterloo, NY; daughter Dorothy (William) White of Bellona, NY; grandchildren Cara Hunter, Adam, Mark, and John Thompson; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Hunter; many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was predeceased by sons Paul R. Dyson, Jr. and David B. Dyson; her parents; one sister and two brothers.
