Obituary of Charles Frederick Trickler

WATERLOO – C. Fred Trickler, 87, died peacefully with his loving wife by his side, Thursday (December 31, 2020) at his home.
In keeping with Fred's wishes there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday (June 4, 2021) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Center St., Waterloo, NY. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor, will officiate. The committal service and military rites will be 12 p.m. Friday (June 4, 2021) in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Varick, NY.

Fred was born September 4, 1933, in Utica, NY, the son of Mary E. Trickler. He was a 1951 graduate of Waterloo Central High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Fred was a graduate of FLCC with an Associate's degree in Real Estate. Fred retired after 42 years of employment with Goulds Pumps. In Seneca Falls, NY. Fred served as a County Supervisor for the Town of Waterloo. After leaving the position of County Supervisor for the town, he served as a Town of Waterloo Councilman. He was a member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V. F. W. Fred was also a member and Past Commander for Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. He was an avid hunter. Fred also volunteered as a Waterloo Little League coach and an EMT for North Seneca Ambulance Corps.
He is survived by his wife Brenda J. Trickler; daughter Hollie (Deborah Johnston) Trickler of Rochester, NY; sons Scott Trickler of Seneca Falls, NY and Cory Trickler of Syracuse, NY; grandson Bradon Trickler of Seneca Falls, NY; Emilie Trickler of Waterloo, NY; brother Ted Podgorny of Elmira, NY; and Katherine (James) Milella of Seneca Falls, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his mother Mary E. Huff; and sister and brother-in-law Mary Lu (Jack) Van Tassel.
