Ralph was born August 23, 1933 in Waterloo, the son of Howard and Verna Kidd Sorensen. He was a 1952 graduate of Romulus Central School. Ralph married his late wife Carol on August 1, 1959. They enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, races at Finger Lakes Gaming, and politics. Ralph and Carol donated the Mac Dougall School House in 1998. They were responsible for it's relocation and dedication. The school house has become a visitor center, historical site, and functional class room. He was a hard worker, running his family's cash crop and beef farm. He was also an assessor for the Town of Fayette for many years.
Ralph had many interests, hobbies, and enjoyed a good laugh, usually with a twinkle in his eye. Among many of his passions, some were Volunteering for Varick Fire Department and acting as Chief for 23 years. He loved playing Uker with friends and family. He was a baseball cap and coin collector. Ralph enjoyed sports, especially football, NY Yankees, and deer hunting.
Ralph truly enjoyed his nephews and nieces and always went out of his way to assist them in any way possible. A special thanks to all who took time to visit with Ralph during these years.
He is survived by two brothers, Robert (Joan) Sorensen, Sr. and Phil (Claudia) Sorensen and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Carol L. Clark Sorensen in 2008.
