Dear Cheryl, we are so very sorry for your loss. We were privileged to have known Jim through the stamp club. He influenced so many lives with his positive attitude. Always with a smile on his face, no matter how much pain he was in, he was genuinely concerned about you and what was happening in your life. We are all a better person to have known him. God bless!

Cheryl and Family, I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. It was my pleasure to know you both from the Legion functions I attended with Jim Shaw. I thought Jim was a wonderful person. I know he fought a hard and courageous battle with this horrible disease. I liked Jim from the day I met him. You are in good hands now my friend. I know you are free from your pain and suffering.Even with this terrible disease you made the world a better place with all that you done and accomplished and the Community Gardens will live on in honor and all the love you put in it. Rest in Peace my friend. Respectfully, Joyce Brooks, Binghamton,NY

Cheryl, Our prayers & thoughts are with you at this very difficult time. We loved Jim and he will always be in our hearts. I will always remember meeting him for the first time at the Waterloo Library with the youth stamp club. And then he taught me a lot about stamp collecting- we will carry on his legacy teaching the future youth club members all about his passion of postage stamp collecting!! We will miss him so much but he has left a wonderful legacy that we can all be so proud of!! The Snowman will live on in all of the lives that he has touched over the years and that is something so wonderful!! God Bless and hugs to you, Lori and Michael Newberg

Jim was a very special man. I witnessed just how special he is when he was the Santa at the library this past December. He showed such tenderness with the children it was remarkable. I truly showed what a big heart he had. He is no longer in pain and he is free to plant everything in heaven!

I hope you find comfort in knowing you will be in our prayers. Love, Brittany, Jim, Jamie, Ryleigh, Grant, Annie, Lincoln and John Paul Bruning
