Waterloo – Capt. Ronald E. Fisher, 72, of 2867 State Rt. 96S, died Sunday (Sept. 16, 2018) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 19) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. Military rites will be 7 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 19) by members of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion and Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V. F. W. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 23) at Tyre United Methodist Church. Rev. Kevin Grish, former pastor for the church, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

Ron was born May 8, 1946, in Corry, PA, the son of Lloyd L. and Frances M. Reynolds Fisher. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School and from Cayuga Community College. He served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines National Guard. Ron was employed for eleven years in law enforcement. Then he was employed as a firefighter and medic in Leland, NC. He owned and operated Capt. Ron's Fishing Charter. He was a member of Romulus and Varick Volunteer Fire Departments. Ron was a member of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. He was also a life member of NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, A. Joseph (Rebecca Lopez) Fisher of Williamsburg, VA, Kristopher (Shelby) Fisher of Waterloo, NY and Ronald "Jason" Fisher of Virginia Beach, VA; mother of the sons, Gloria Fisher; four grandchildren, Emme, Parker, Joe, and Felicity Fisher; his mother, Frances M. Brazo of Waterloo, NY; brothers, Michael Jahna of Geneva, NY, Randy Jahna of Waterloo, NY and Kenneth Jahna of New Bern, NC; foster brother, Robert (Sonia) Davis of Geneva, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his very faithful canine companion, Itsy; and many special friends from Connie's Diner.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Lloyd L. Fisher; and step-father, Joseph J. Brazo, Jr.
