Alethea E. Fillingham
Geneva - Alethea Elizabeth Fillingham, 92, of Spruce Tree Trailer Park, lot 52, died Sunday (January 20, 2013) at her home with her family by her side.
Friends may call on Thursday (Jan. 24) 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (Jan. 25) at the funeral Home. Rev. Paul Douglass, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Geneva, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1717 or Grace Baptist Church 3142 Johnson Rd., Geneva 14456.
Alethea was born August 28, 1920 in Phelps, the daughter of Clarence and Helen Travis Young. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother spending many hours attending to the needs of her family. Alethea was employed at Hulse Manufacturing Co. in Geneva for 25 years. She was a member of Junius Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by six daughters: Shirley (John) Brown of Gates, NC, Jeannette (Jim) Black of Wayland, Alethea M. Bortle of Macedon, Joan Keefer and Donna Smith both of Geneva, and Bonita (Anthony) Nedza of Manchester, one brother: Roger Young of Morehead, KY, one sister: Loretta (Robert) Springer of Phelps, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis M. Fillingham Nov. 29, 1971, four brothers, four sisters and a set of twin infant siblings.
