Obituary of Phyllis Hauf

Seneca Falls - Phyllis Marie Hauf, 80, formerly of Seneca Street, died Sunday (December 23, 2012) at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center in Auburn surrounded by her loving family.
Friends may call on Thursday (Dec. 27) from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. Members of the Waterloo V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary will perform a service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home; the funeral service will immediately follow. Rev. William Dorow, Jr., pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church in Waterloo, will officiate. The family will also receive friends and family at the Waterloo V.F.W. following the funeral service. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, 13148.
Phyllis was born July 23, 1932 in Massena, the daughter of Arthur and Hilda Reynolds Gaines. She was a 1951 graduate of Mynderse Academy. She worked for New York Telephone Co., Willard Psychiatric Center, and then Seneca Army Depot until her retirement. After retiring she worked part time at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the security department. She was a lifetime member of the Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Kirk-Casey Post 366 American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary in Seneca Falls. She was also a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She was an avid bingo player and loved scrabble and casinos.
She is survived by one daughter: Linda (Warren) Fredericksen and one son: David Hauf all of Seneca Falls, one granddaughter: Tamara (Daniel) Longo and their son Jacob, of Fredericksburg, VA, brothers and sisters-in-law, B. Wilson (Eileen) Hauf of Waterloo, Robert (Lillian) Hauf of Lyons, Carlton (Alma) Landgraff of Rochester and Eugene (Olga) Brand of Fayette, many nieces and nephews, and many cousins, including one special cousin: Audrey Daggett of Massena.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years: Raymond L. Hauf on July 13, 2002.
