Obituary of Laura Jean Coleman

WATERLOO - Laurie J. Coleman, 59, died Thursday (June 30, 2016) at her home. There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday (July 6) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St.Francis/St. Clare Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. Laurie was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Lakehurst, N.J., the daughter of James "Si" and Catherine J. Ramos Bachman, while her father was stationed at the Naval Air Station. She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1974. She was employed by New York State in a number of facets. She worked at the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities as a Developmental Aide at the time of her passing. Laurie was a loving and honest person with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling, dining out, and sitting poolside. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and frequently visited them in Georgia. Together they loved roller skating, going to arcades, and eating ice cream. Laurie is survived by her beloved children Michelle (Aaron) LaBour of Cumming, Ga. and James (Gwen) Cole of Canton, Ga.; grandchildren Brandon LaBour, Christian LaBour, Hayden Cole, Gabriel Cole and Reagan Cole, all of whom brought great joy to her life; her mother, Catherine Bachman of Waterloo; sisters Cheryl (Kevin) O'Donnell and Mary (Thomas) Lutz both of Waterloo; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
