Obituary of John Pezzulo

Ovid - John Thomas Pezzulo, 59, of 6469 St. Rt. 89, died Wednesday (October 14, 2015) at his home.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 18) at Waterloo United Methodist Church, 21 E. Williams St., Waterloo. Rev. Laura Calos, pastor and Rev. Daniel Corretore, pastor of N. Rose United Methodist Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to payable to John T. Pezzulo Scholarship Fund, c/o Rebecca Pezzulo, 6469 St. Rt. 89, Ovid, NY, 14521.
John was born Sept. 2, 1956 in Rochester, the son of Thomas and Carol Bovenzi Pezzulo. John retired in June of this year from the Clyde-Savannah Central School District where he served as a teacher and coach for 30 years. John's football team won the Class D Sectionals in 2001. He was also an assistant coach for Clyde-Savannah when they won the State Football Championship in 1989. John was the Class D Football Coach of the year in 2001-2002. In addition, he was a Varsity Track Coach specializing in Shot Put and Discus. John was an avid sports fan and die hard Indianapolis Colts and Alabama fan.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Powers Pezzulo, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1987; daughter, Jessica Lynn Pezzulo (James Kranz) of Buffalo; son, Thomas James Pezzulo (Beth McGory) of Orlando, FL; sister, Elaine (Tony) Ferrara, of Seneca Falls; his mother-in-law, Ruth Powers of Watkins Glen; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
John was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law, James Powers.
