Obituary of David Cudlin

Waterloo - David J. Cudlin, 56, of Waterloo, died Thursday (October 8, 2015) as a result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Friends may call 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (October 13) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home,46 W. Main St., Waterloo. The memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday (October 13) at the funeral home. Pastor William Lower, pastor of Westhill Community Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Cudlin, 1965 County House Rd., Waterloo, NY, 13165, to establish a scholarship fund in David's name, for students graduating from Newfield High School or Waterloo High School pursuing a degree in the engineering field.
David was born August 12, 1959 in Ithaca, the son of Joseph and Ruth Shultz Cudlin. He was a 1977 graduate of Newfield High School in Newfield, NY. David then went on to earn his Associate's Degree in Engineering from Alfred State University later, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Clarkson University. David began employment with Bard Parker in Hancock, NY for one year. Leaving employment at Bard Parker he was employed by GTE Sylvania in Seneca Falls, until the plant closed. David was employed at Gould Pumps Inc./ITT, for 27 years, most recently as engineering supervisor. He was a member of Waterloo Rifle and Pistol Club. David was a volunteer and member of the Leadership Circle for Seneca County United Way. He was also a member of Car Pride, an automobile club in Ithaca.
He is survived by his of wife 30 years, whom he married Oct. 13, 1984, Sharon Personius Cudlin; son, Travis D. Cudlin; his parents, Joseph and Ruth Cudlin; sisters, Linda (Vincent) DiStefano of Trumansburg, JoAnn LaPadula of Ft. Myers, FL, Sandra (John) Merrill of Groton, and Lisa (David) Brown of Whitefish, MT; father-in-law, Donald L. Personius of Freeville; mother-in-law, Beatrice Lower of Geneva; brothers-in-law, Thomas Personius of Brooktondale and Ricky Personius of Newfield; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many close friends and business associates.
David was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Donald K. Personius and David LaPadula.
