Obituary of Norman Comiskey

Waterloo - Norman Spencer Comiskey, 82, of 19 Grove St., died Monday (June 1, 2015) at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic in Clifton Springs, with his loving family by his side.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday (June 5) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday (June 6) at funeral home. Military rites will be 7 p.m. Friday (June 5) the funeral home by members of Waterloo Memoiral Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. Rev. Kevin Grish, pastor of Tyre United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tyre United Methodist Church, c/o Norma Cayward 7508 Youngs Road, Auburn, NY, 13201 or Waterloo Volunteer Fire Dept., c/o Mark Shaw, 107 E. Elisha St., Waterloo, NY, 13165.
Norman was born December 6, 1932 in Waterloo, the son of Norman D. and Hazel Trickler Comiskey. He attended school in Waterloo. Norm was a U. S. Army veteran. He working with Shaeffer Dairy in Waterloo. Later, he was employed with the Village of Waterloo Street Department, until he retired. He was a member of the Waterloo Volunteer Department, Fire Advisory Board, Seneca County Fire Police, Seneca County Chiefs Association, and Northern Central Volunteer Fireman's Association. He was also a member of Waterloo Sportsman's Club. Norm was a member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. He was longtime of Tyre United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife whom he married Nov. 26, 1971, Roberta Comiskey; stepson, Jeff (Maryann Young) Bennett of Seneca Falls; granddaughters, Aimee (Stephen Tillinghast) Bennett and Susan (Jim) Vanderstyne; great grandchildren, Breanna Baker, Brittany Baker, Brooke Baker, Dustin Bennett, Braiden Baker, sister-in-law Sherry Poormon of Waterloo; and nieces and nephews, Diane (Tom) O'Brien, Terri (Bernie) Long and Rhonda (John) Dickenson.
Norm was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Carl Poormon.
