Obituary of Sophia Rapini

Waterloo - Sophia Mary Rapini, 90, of 30 W. Main St., Apt. 206, died Tuesday (March 10, 2015) at House of John in Clifton Springs. There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 28) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. Rev. Laura Calos, pastor of the Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY, 14432. Sophia was born July 4, 1924 in Loup City, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Sophia Placzek Borys. She attended school in Lyons. Sophia was first employed with Hickok Belt Manufacturing in Clyde, eventually was employed for 20 years with Parker-Hannifin, until her retirement. She is survived by sons, Mark (Mona Rose) Rapini, Cary (Norma) Rapini, Arthur (Suzanne) Rapini, Duane (Sharon) Rapini; five grandchildren, Christopher (Hanna) Rapini, Nicholas Rapini, Martin (Brianna) Rapini, Traci (Drew) Rogers, and Andrea Rapini; one great-grandson, Nathaniel; brother, Henry (Jeanette) Borys, Lyons; and many nieces and nephews. Sophia was predeceased by her parents; great-grandson, Cole Michael Rapini; brothers, John and Michael Borys; sisters, Dorothy Avery, Kate Borys, Muriel Tuck, Frances Lasch, Josephine Palazzi, Louise Albro, and Rose Naragon; former husband, Arthur J.
