Seneca Falls - Darlene K. Parish, 74, of Seneca Falls, died Tuesday (November 25, 2014) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo.
Friends may call 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 29) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 29) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Canoga Cemetery in Canoga.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Karen Roloson, 2677 Martiin Rd, Seneca Falls, NY, 13148 to benefit Darlene's son, Robert Parish, who is recovering from open heart surgery and facing high medical expenses.
Darlene was born August 17, 1940 in Champaign, Ill. the daughter of Alfred C. and Mamie I. Hendershot Shipley. She was a graduate of Champaign High School in Champaign, Ill. Darlene was a resident of Seneca County since 1977. She enjoyed raising her family and grandchildren. One of her passions as owner of Champign Collectables was being a vendor at various Flea Markets. She was an avid gardener and reader. She also enjoyed working on puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William H. Parish; daughters, Karen (Dale) Roloson of Seneca Falls and Nancy (Walter Case) Lind of Waterloo; son, Robert (Ruth) Parish of Homer, Ill.; grandchildren, Amanda Young, Emily (Tom) McDonald, Rob (Jessie) Parish, Brandon (Holly) Parish, Ellen (Deck) Benson, Chantel Parish, Tony (Amy) McConaha, Tisha (Mark) Plonese, Jesse (Haley) McConaha, Rebecca Roloson and Zach Roloson; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn (David) Dillman of Urbana, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was predeceased by her brother, Donald Shipley; sister, Dorothy and her husband, Elwood Breidenbach; brothers-in-law, Charles Parish and Fred Parish; and nephew, Brian Parish.
