Obituary of Katherine Hyde

Lyons/Waterloo - Katherine M. Hyde, 82, formerly of 31 Pearl St., died Monday (September 1, 2014) at Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons. In keeping with the wishes of the family there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 6) at the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Dept., 39 E. Water St., Waterloo, NY. Sandra Shaw, Chaplain for the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice. Katherine was born April 12, 1932 in Ithaca, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Thomas Berry. She retired Feb. 17, 1993, after many years of employment with Parker-Hannifin in Lyons. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Katherine was a wonderful cook and baker. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. Katherine also liked to garden. She is survived by daughters, Diane (Roman) Bodak of Walworth, Brenda (Fiance,Tom McBride) Hyde of Waterloo, and Gloria Marcotte of Seneca Falls; and son, Charles (Connie) Hyde of Waterloo; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
